Nude Men – Roy Blakey

Sometimes I see some shots that I want to keep forever. Sometimes I even see photography that actually makes me want to pick up a camera, put an ad in a paper and start welcoming models. Roy Blakey is one of those photographers who definitely inspires me!

It has to be said though, that the 1970's is not my decade. It was the decade I was born, but I'm a guy of the end of the 80's and start of the 90's, that's my era. Something about the fashion and styles of the 70's really just winds me up the wrong way! lol

Having said that, when I was looking through some of the pics I have on file from this amazing photographer I realized that I had an under appreciated collection of male nudes from that era. The hair might be a little telling, but other than that you can't really tell, so I guess that's why I like them; they might be from the dreaded 70's, but there's not a lava lamp in sight and no Peace signs to distract.

I love photographers who really play with light on muscle, and although these guys might not be your typical male hunk, they're definitely worth appreciating!
