I Would Love To Have All Of These Artworks By Paul Cadmus To Adorn My Walls

I'm having a bit of an arty day today, as sometimes I do when the writing calms down for long enough to allow it. I don't just spend a day drawing or painting, I like to get a little inspiration from other artists so I take a look around out there for something that grabs my attention.

Today it was Paul Cadmus.

I've never heard of him before and I'm not sure why, because his images are what I love to see.

He was an eclectic artist for almost 90 years and his style was "magic realism" (generally what I would call fantasy) but he also dabbled heavily in male erotica. That's where most of my interest is.

These images give you a good idea of what I mean. I really enjoy drawing the male form and this kind of work really inspires me.

When I was a student I really used to love classical marble sculpture and these images kind of remind me of that. The way they're posed is so similar to what I used to be interested in back in the day. I probably produced a hundred drawings not unlike these back then, all from studies of classical statues.

I love all of these and I want them all on my walls.
