Gayming in 2024: The Hottest Genres and Upcoming Releases

What’s hotter than watching gay porn? How about controlling the action yourself?

That’s the basic appeal of the rapidly growing market for gay adult games. It doesn’t matter whether you’re fapping on Android, iOS, PC or Mac -- we’ve seen developers pushing games for every device, and they’re reaching a big audience.

Mike Morris has a rundown of the hottest gay porn games on AdultVisor. Here are some of the top genres he’s banking on for some red-hot Gaymer action in 2024:

Gay Sex Simulators

These need no introduction. Who needs story, narrative or emotional depth? You can’t browse a tube site these days without getting blasted by ads for sex simulators promising “you’ll cum in 60 seconds”.

The way these games work is pretty simple. You create your own character then ‘control the action’, diving into full 3D sex scenes with twinks, jocks, studs, tops and bottoms. From Gay Simulator to Stud Game, there’s no shortage of 3D simulators on the market, and 2024 will see more of the same: some good, some awful.

One area where we’re expecting big advances is the VR space. Virt-a-Mate already let you simulate sex in virtual reality. It has a huge community posting sexy mods, poses and lifelike men to steam up your headset. Expect other VR sex sims to hit the market in 2024.

Visual Novels

If there’s one genre we can always rely on to deliver the goods, it’s visual novels. From Coming Out On Top to Full Service, there’s been some mouthwatering smut to enjoy over the last couple of years.

If you’ve never played an adult visual novel, it’s a bit like one of those ‘choose your own adventure’ books you used to read as a kid. Your choices define how the story progresses, except in these games… most roads lead to sucking and fucking. 

There’s a couple of promising gay VNs in the pipeline for 2024, including Baradroid and Jock Studio.

Dating Sims

These are often called Yaoi games, focusing more on the emotional and romantic connection between characters -- unlike bara games, which are distinctly more hardcore and usually a lot more focused on the sex.

Many of the hottest gay visual novels have dating sim elements. And by that we mean, you’ll be challenged to ‘get to know your men’ before jumping in the sack with them.

There’s some sexy looking male-on-male dating sims coming in the next year, including an update for Freshmen: Physical Education – a game already packing some of the hottest CGs in the space.

Harem Builders

You either love or hate these games. Take the smash hit, Gay Harem, for example. It’s been around for years now but it’s still going strong.

These games fall under the genre of ‘passive’ or ‘casual’ for a reason. They’re designed to be so simple that you can play them with your dick in one hand.

Each day you get missions, quests and rewards, with the goal being to unlock new male characters and eventually seduce them (with uncensored artwork being the pay-off).

If we’re being critical, it’s hard to avoid that these games are designed from the ground up to get you dipping into your wallet. It’s purposefully difficult to unlock the hardcore content, meaning you’ll pay for the privilege through hours of grind… or through paid upgrades.

Still, it’s a successful model, and one that you’ll find in other smash hit gay titles like Men Bang, Cockville, Fap CEO and Booty Calls: Men At Work.

Gay Furry Games

An acquired taste, for sure. Games like Amorous are an example of the wide appeal of anthro titles, and we’ve seen a ton of them from smaller indie developers in the last few months.

The biggest upcoming title in this genre is undoubtedly Wild Life, a huge sprawling open world sandbox from Candy Valley Network, due for release sometime in 2024.
