There's a lot of photography out there I could share with you, plenty of gorgeous men posing for talented photographers in interesting shoots, but I think we all have to recognize that this sexy shoot by V. Valeodis really suits my interests, and I'm pretty certain a lot of you will love it, too.

It's no secret that I love (and I mean absolutely love!) the classic photography of the 40s, 50s and 60s, back when Physique Pictorial and Athletic Model Guild were the leading lights in male erotic photography.

Back then it was a way to release erotica while evading "obscenity" laws, but there's no doubting what it was all about and that it played an important part in the history of not only erotic entertainment but also LGBTQ+ rights.

We've seen plenty of classic shoots with handsome models from back in those days and we all seem to agree that it's an important moment in pornographic history and photography.

Well, V. Valeodis has brought that history alive in this new series of photos featuring an anonymous male model, projecting classic images from decades past over the posing of the handsome man.

It's an interesting homage to the men who came before and it reminds us again to contemplate where we might be without Bob Mizer.

I love this so much. I hope you guys enjoy it and leave a comment below. Hit that thumbs up button too!

Have a great Saturday!

Bob Mizer, Bruce of LA, Athletic Model Guild, Western Photography Guild and many, many others were pioneers in male nude photography. I’d like to add Jim French from COLT Studio to that list. We was an absolute genius as well! So many timeless images thanks to these great artists!

Excellent concept. I challenge those who are not familiar with these publications to take time and see how excellent they were and how much Bob Mizer pioneered such wonderful photography that has become the backbone of what is done today. Physique Pictorial is being published again. Check it out.

I must confess at first I merely glanced over the photos with little interest but once I actually gave them my full attention their each one outstanding. Such depth and the particular use of overlapping frames creates a teaser effect. An interesting and very unusual post certainly.

Similar to my comment on your June 8th “Birdman” post, I really see this type of work at a gallery or museum show.
