We've seen some great examples of body painting on the blog before, and the previous work of Ricardo Muniz has had our attention previously when he went all sporty with male model Joe Kavitski. So, when I saw the recent collection of photos of his work I was pretty impressed, not only by his style and imagination, but by the hunks he chooses for his work too. I think we all agree that this is some pretty good work from a real talent, and I hope I can bring you more in the future too.

This is part 2 of his Warriors collection, and there is apparently a third collection of images to come.

He mixes his body painting skills with his photography to create some very interesting work, and although other body painters tend to just use the human body as a canvas, he actually puts those models in a context that makes sense too.

The models are Deilin and Bill, but I wish we knew more about them too. But without that, we can still look upon these interesting images and appreciate all the work that's gone into them. It's rare to see a photographer to go this far in creating a cohesive theme for his work, and it definitely achieves something I can appreciate.

Thanks, GBB, for the words and the support. I really appreciate this wording: “He mixes his body painting skills with his photography to create some very interesting work, and although other body painters tend to just use the human body as a canvas, he actually puts those models in a context that makes sense too.” Although some of your readers did not like the images, the idea behind my Warriors series is to address the truth and pain and reality behind our own unaware and often misguided interpretations of the male sexual psyche and my hope to showcase the “true” sensuality of war. My work is often more political than it is sexually arousing. This is a complaint I often get: “OMG. Your models are so gorgeous. I don’t understand. Why don’t you show more dick like other photographers?” My response: “I do. I’m holding up a mirror to society. I’m trying to shine a light on our hypocrisies and narcissism. I thought you saw all this when you looked in that mirror.” Thank you for your support and words. May you and your readers have a safe and wonderful holiday season.
