British Beef – Philip Olivier

I know this post might be lost on many outside of the UK, but this young man is quite popular in the gay scene here. This is Philip Olivier, TV and stage actor, general celebrity personality, and part time model too.

Starting out on popular soap Brookside in 1996, he stayed in that role until its cancellation in 2003. And although he has been absent from mainstream TV (with a long-term character role) for a little while now, he keeps popping up in random shows - like Bo Selecta, Ghost Hunting With... and Come Dine With Me. Aside from these unpredictable appearances, his career has continued in other directions, specifically converging with the gay scene too. He regularly shows up at gay events, from presenting Mr Gay UK in 2005 to appearing on stage at Gay Pride in London. He has featured in photo shoots for Attitude magazine and has even released his own steamy calendar!

He seems to have found a real connection with the gay scene, especially after appearing in the UK soap Hollyoaks as a gay character struggling with his sexuality in 2006.

Is he just another straight guy adopted by the gay scene, or is he gay and just doesn't feel the need to explain it? Whatever the reason, he's still very popular here, and an appearance in a magazine like Attitude is certain to boost sales every time. So lets hope it continues, because he really does have a very sexy bod!
