What Is Ransom Canyon About?

For those who are just tuning in for the armpits and have no idea what's going on, Ransom Canyon is a modern Western about rival ranchers in a small Texas town. Its central on-again, off-again romance pairs widowed rancher Staten, played by Josh Duhamel, with pianist and bar owner Quinn, played by Minka Kelly. This is essentially Netflix's answer to Yellowstone, and while it hasn't broken into the zeitgeist as much as Yellowstone, it's certainly making the right moves in season two.
