Touko Valio Laaksonen was born in 1920 in Kaarina, Finland. He found fame as an erotic artist in 1956 after submitting images to the Physique Pictorial magazine in the USA. His creative style is globally famous, with subjects depicted in leather, sporting themes and cruisy settings. The hyper-masculinity of much of his work has been replicated numerous times by other artists inspired by him, leading to a creative form in its own right.
